What we collect
- Account info
- When you sign in: email, name, and the OAuth provider ID handed to us by Clerk. We don't see or store your password.
- Tracker data
- Your tracker (caught, shiny, defeated trainers, collected items, TCG collection) is saved in your browser's localStorage as you use the site. While you are signed in it also syncs to our database, so your progress follows you to any device you log in on. Signed out, it never leaves your browser. Device settings such as your theme always stay local. If you create a stream overlay, the progress it displays is readable by anyone who has that overlay's link.
- Server logs
- Standard hosting telemetry from Vercel — IP address, user agent, request path — retained for a short rolling window for abuse prevention and debugging.
- Aggregate page analytics
- Counts of page views and routes via Vercel Analytics. No individual tracking, no third-party advertising cookies.
How we use it
- To let you sign in and sync your tracker across the devices you use.
- To understand which Pokémon, maps, and items get the most use so we can prioritise improvements.
- To keep the site online and diagnose errors.
We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers, or build behavioural profiles.
Third parties
Tallgrass runs on top of a few external services. Each handles data according to its own policy:
- ClerkAuthentication and account management
- VercelHosting and analytics
- NeonDatabase hosting for synced tracker data
- CloudflareR2 storage for images, sprites, and map assets
- PokeAPIRead-only data for species, moves, and encounters
Your rights
Request export or deletion of your account data at any time by emailing contact@tallgrass.gg.
While you are signed in, your synced tracker sits in our database and we can export or delete it for you on request. Signed out, the only copy is the one in your browser's localStorage, which you can clear from your browser's site settings. We cannot see or delete that copy.
